On 23rd January 2019, the EU-China SPRP hold the fifth and last Project Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting at the European Union Delegation to China, in Beijing, China.
The meeting was co-chaired by Mrs. Chen Hongying, First Secretary, Department of International Trade & Economic Affairs, MOFCOM and Mr. Chris Wood, Minister & Deputy Head of the Delegation of the European Union to China, with Mr. Asad Beg, Minister Counsellor, Head of Political, Press & Information Section, taking over the co-chair after the welcome speeches.
The meeting gathered 40 participants, including the Chinese project beneficiaries: National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), Ministry of Finance (MoF), Ministry of Civil Affairs (MoCA); other Chinese stakeholders: Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (MoHRSS), and China Population and Development Research Center; European Consortium members: the Italian Institute of Social Protection (INPS), the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy of Poland, the Ministry of Employment and Social Security of Spain, the Ministry of Labour and Social Security of Romania, Expertise France, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic, and the so called affiliated entity SISPI; EU Resident Experts and local team; EU attaché from Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Romania, Embassies in Beijing.
The purpose of this PAC was to supervise and support the implementation of the project and to ensure effective coordination amongst the key Chinese stakeholders of the three project Components. Furthermore, given the extension of the project for a duration up to 16 November 2019, the PAC was an occasion to discuss upon the sustainability of project results and activities after the project conclusion.
